Dear Belmont Rattler Parents and Students,
My name is Kylie Felzien, and I am excited to introduce myself as the principal of Belmont Elementary School. This will be my fifth year serving as principal, and I am honored to be part of a school known far and wide for its commitment to excellence—and more importantly, its commitment to children.
Over the past 24 years, I have worked as both a teacher and in administration, but I consider my most important role to be that of a child advocate. Not only am I thrilled to work with your children, but I also look forward to partnering with you to support their growth and success.
The Belmont Elementary staff is committed to providing the best possible education for your child. We are proud of our school’s accomplishments and the exciting opportunities for student learning that are emerging here and across Pueblo District 60 Schools. Our mission centers on high expectations for all students and the belief that every child can learn and succeed.
Our main goals remain:
- Meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of every student
- Increasing student achievement
- Providing a safe, nurturing, and secure school environment
We believe these goals can be achieved through strong teamwork between the school and home. Belmont is fortunate to be supported by dedicated parents and a caring community. Your involvement—whether it’s volunteering, reading with your child, helping with homework, attending meetings, or simply reinforcing the value of education at home—makes a meaningful difference.
Parents, please remember that through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you can access your child’s grades, attendance, and assessment information. This is a powerful tool to help you stay informed and engaged with your child’s academic progress. If you need assistance accessing the portal, please contact the school office.
Throughout the year, we’ll communicate with you through notes sent home, newsletters, our Belmont Elementary Facebook page, and School Messenger calls. Please ensure your contact information is up to date in our system so you don’t miss important messages. You can also stay informed by checking the district and school websites for updates and event information.
Belmont Elementary has a well-earned reputation for success, thanks to our exceptional team of educators, outstanding students, and supportive families. Together, we will continue to provide Belmont students with the best education possible.
